Research Alliance Executive Director Jim Kemple will serve as the next president of the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness (SREE). SREE’s work is guided by a Board of Directors from diverse disciplines in social sciences, behavioral sciences, and statistics. Dr. Kemple's term begins in January 2023.
Research Alliance (and Research Alliance-affiliated) work will be presented at the fall SREE conference held on September 21st through September 24th:
- On Friday, September 23rd from 10:45am to 11:45am, Dr. Kemple will serve as a panelist on a Plenary Breakout session on the future of training in educational effectiveness research.
- Also on Friday, September 23rd from 2:15pm to 3:45pm (EST), John Sludden will moderate a panel on the Research Alliance's ongoing work on Career and Technical Education (CTE) in New York City. Panelists include Jim Kemple, Clare Flack, Rebecca Unterman (MDRC), and Shaun Dougherty (Boston College).
- Also on Friday, September 23rd from 4:00pm to 5:30pm (EST), James Kemple will serve as a discussant in a symposium organized by Research Alliance affiliate Zitsi Mirakhur (University of Kentucky). The presentation will take a closer look at the relationship between access to housing and students’ educational outcomes.
