NYU Metro Center Features International Autism Activist

Metro's ASD Nest Support Team recently hosted Eustacia Cutler at NYU's Kimmel Center. Ms. Cutler is an internationally recognized autism activist and the mother of Temple Grandin, an American professor of animal science at Colorado State University, consultant to the livestock industry on animal behavior, and autism spokesperson. Ms. Cutler shared a message of hope and encouragement with NYC DOE families raising children with Autism. During the parent workshop, Eustacia Cutler shared her experiences of raising an autistic child during the 1950's and how she was able to cultivate her child's strengths. Parents were able to participate in a Question and Answer session and Ms. Cutler addressed a range of concerns from sharing their child's diagnosis to seeking out a support network.
