NYU Metro Center breathes life into the promise of an equitable education – transforming equity into reality through short- and long-term results. Our far-reaching programs join theory and practice. A dedicated and determined staff of researchers, practitioners, policy experts, advocates, and volunteers make our work possible. In the field, our Center's experts work closely with school administrators, teachers, students, and parents to influence policy and decision-makers at every level – directly impacting the lives of students through our work with school boards, corporate boards, congressional committees, state educators, community-based and not-for-profit organizations, and our colleagues in higher education.

Our experts apply their knowledge directly to classrooms, through workshops, and in training sessions – enabling educators, administrators, and other education workers to build robust and equitable environments that foster student success. Our talented staff also provides direct services to schools, including leadership development for principals and assistant principals, professional development for teachers, and mentors and tutors for hundreds of students.
