On June 5th, 2020, the NYU Metro Center's Excel Academy celebrated their 2019-2020 Cohort from their yearly college-access program. It’s been an amazing journey taking our recipients through an intensive learning process and we are confident that their hard work, commitment and persistence will position them for greater work in their academics and communities.
Excel Academy continues to actively promote education equity by serving talented high school students from the South Bronx with a consummate college preparatory experience. Since the program’s inception in 2009, this targeted intervention has provided over 300 promising youth extraordinary access to academically rigorous, life-enriching college access experiences.
Excel's mission has been made possible through the support of their amazing partners including NYU Metro Center, Teagle Foundation, Fannie Lou Hamer High school and Children’s Aid. With this support Excel has empowered hundreds of students in the South Bronx to become leaders.
