Research Alliance Executive Director Jim Kemple recently participated in a video presentation for the Career and Technical Education Research Network.
In “Setting the Stage for a New Generation of CTE Evidence: NYC as a Hub for CTE Innovation and Research,” Dr. Kemple shares information about the Research Alliance’s ongoing study of career and technical education in New York City. In his presentation, Dr. Kemple provides an overview of the CTE policy context, describes the scale and diversity of CTE options available in NYC, and explores the characteristics of students who chose CTE. He also describes a wealth of data that the study will draw on to assess the implementation, impact, and cost-effectiveness of CTE programming. The ultimate goal of the project is to identify conditions that either limit or enhance CTE’s capacity to improve college and career readiness.
