The Association for Education Finance and Policy (AEFP) will hold its 2026 Annual Conference in Chicago on March 19–21. The conference theme is “Sustaining Education Research and Evidence in a Turbulent Era.” The Research Alliance’s Clare Buckley Flack will present a paper, “Teacher Leader Diversity and the Conditions for Equitable Learning: A Study on Workforce Composition, Teacher Retention, and School Climate” (written with lead author Professor Luis Rodriguez) on Friday, March 20, at 8:15 am, as part of a session on Teachers, Discipline Practices, and School Climate

 

The American Educational Research Association (AERA) will hold its 2026 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles on April 8–12. This year’s conference brings together scholars and practitioners from across the country to share research on pressing issues in education, with the theme "Unforgetting Histories and Imagining Futures: Constructing a New Vision for Education Research." The Research Alliance is participating in a number of sessions: 

  • On Wednesday, April 8, John Sludden, will present a poster, “Digital Math Curriculum to Foster Belonging and Engagement: Teacher Moves and Student Outcomes,” during the 9:45 am structured poster session in Advancing Math Motivation, Engagement and Persistence: Insights from Digital Interventions and Research-Practice Partnerships. 
  • On Thursday, April 9, Cheri Fancsali will present a paper, “CT Integration Framework: A Project Investigating Pathways Towards Schoolwide CT Integration” (co-authored with Heather Sherwood and Babette Moeller) during the 7:45 am working group roundtable in Bridging Institutions, Building Futures: School–University Partnerships for Sustainable K–12 CS Education
  • On Friday, April 10, Cheri Fancsali will present a paper on “Cultivating Humanizing Pedagogies: Nurturing Teachers’ Implementation of Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education in Computer Science” (co-authored with Kathryn Hill and Alexandra Adair) during the 3:45 pm roundtable session in Justice by Design: Humanizing STEM Education Through Equity, Culture, and Teacher Development. 
  • On Saturday, April 11, Alexandra Adair will present a poster, “Beyond Access and Opportunity in CS: Developing Measures of Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education Implementation in CS Courses” (co-authored with Kathryn Hill and Cheri Fancsali), during the 1:45 pm poster session in Computer Science Education Approaches and Techniques in Context. John Sludden will present a paper titled “High School Advising: Exploring Students’ Perceptions of School-Based Support for College and Career Transitions” during the 3:45 pm symposium on Advising Around Postsecondary Pathways. 
  • On Sunday, April 12, Cheri Fancsali will present a paper, “Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education in Computer Science: Linking Teacher Practices to Student Outcomes” (with co-authors Xia Li, Kathryn Hill, and Alexandra Adair) during the 9:45 am roundtable, Culturally Responsive Approaches to Equity in STEM+CS.
