Metro Center's CSS Hosts Critically Conscious Educators Rising Series

Metro's Center for Strategic Solutions' (CSS) Decolonizing Education Conference serves as a culminating event for thier Critically Conscious Educators Rising (CCER) Series which this year brought together 600 teachers, administrators, counselors, social workers, and parents from NYC into 12 cohorts to build their critical consciousness. The goal of the CCER Series is to assemble like-minded educators committed to equity and justice in education while building a community of critically conscious educators who will turnkey information within thier individual spheres of influence.

CCER is now in its third iteration. During 2016-2017, CCER had just one cohort of 25 people, then in 2017-2018, CCER hosted 360 participants across 6 cohorts.

In 2018-2019, CCER has 600 participants including 3 cohorts of year 2 participants who are returning for a deeper dive into curriculum and pedagogy.
