NYU Metro Center's College Planning Workshops Yield Positive Results

Posted

Metro's College Preparatory Academy (CPA), functions on the premise that persistent parental involvement is crucial to the academic and personal success of students. CPA's monthly college and financial aid planning workshops not only help families comprehend the complexities of the college application process but aim to bolster the confidence and knowledge needed to complete FAFSA and navigate the financial aid process as a whole.

Recently, CPA held two Parent College Planning Workshops. These workshops were deemed succesful, evident in the number of parents/guardians who attended and the discussions that were fostered. Topics discussed include but are not limited to: Campus life, College affordability, College-and-career readiness, Financial aid, High school to college transition, Honors Societies, Programs, Majors, and Orientation.

"We applaud parents for their ongoing hard work and support as we work collaboratively in preparing our students for life after high school and beyond", stated CPA Director Patricia Ryan-Canedo and CPA Staff.
