This third Equity Now Pre-Conference Session aims to equip educators, school leaders, and administrators with actionable, dialogical practices to transform professional learning into a driver for culturally responsive teaching. During this webinar, led by Dr. Samantha Chung and Dr. Abby Emerson, will explore Critical Professional Development (CPD) as a liberatory framework that shifts power from individuals at the top to the broader collective.
Attendees of this 2026 Equity Now Pre-Conference webinar will receive a clear framework and concrete action steps for implementing these collaborative practices, resulting in deeper critical consciousness and more equitable, culturally affirming classroom instruction.
This digital educational learning series will cover practices, including: utilizing case studies for critical reflection; creating responsive teacher inquiry cycles; modeling shared leadership by leaders "stepping aside" to foster teacher agency; and systematically using student feedback to inform culturally responsive changes.
