The Ossining Equity Fellowship: Systems for Developing a Culturally Responsive & Sustaining Education
The goal of this workshop will be to provide the architecture of the Ossining Equity Fellowship. Particularly, we will examine the design of the fellowship that seeks to empower teacher and student leaders to turnkey their shared learning in their spheres of influence. This shared learning is grounded in the four principles of the New York CRSE Framework. For example, the Building Equity Leaders are facilitating the ongoing professional learning through the Archeology of the Self framework in order to build the critical consciousness necessary to develop an authentically welcoming and affirming environment. Similarly, the CRSE Writers are focused on the high expectations, rigorous instruction as well as the inclusive curriculum and assessment inherent in Dr. Gholdy Muhammad's Cultivating Genius Framework that they are learning and turnkeying to their peers. In addition to adult learning, the Ossining Equity Fellowship includes advisors to amplify student voices and activism.
