Moving the Needle: Co-facilitation of CR-SE in Practice

What is it like to take colleagues through an in depth exploration of how internalized biases and subconscious racism affects systemic disproportionality outcomes for marginalized students? As classroom teachers in a suburban district outside of Syracuse, NY, we have co-facilitated four cohorts of district employees in CR-SE training and are on track to continue this work until we reach 100% completion. In our workshop, we will take participants through our journey, highlighting the complications, roadblocks and successes that we have experienced as we continue to build co-facilitation capacity in this work. This is an opportunity to hear from educators in the thick of the co-facilitation process, so that workshop participants can feel empowered to begin their own journeys.
