Mapping Equity through Systems Thinking: Transforming Challenges into Liberatory Practices (Room 903)
Most efforts to address inequities in education focus on quick solutions rather than uncovering and shifting the systemic conditions that perpetuate them. In this interactive session, participants will explore how to use systems thinking to map equity challenges, identify root causes, and co-create actionable strategies for change. Through hands-on activities and collaborative discussions, school and district teams will better understand the interconnected systems that influence student outcomes and learn to leverage liberatory practices for sustained improvement. Participants will leave the session with: Tools to reconceptualize problems of practice within their unique contexts, frameworks for defining and operationalizing equity in actionable, context-specific ways; and resources to transform systems and policies that hold inequities in place into structures that foster inclusivity and belonging. Whether you are a classroom teacher, school leader, or district administrator, this session will equip you with practical strategies and tools to create more equitable, liberatory spaces for all students and learning communities.
