When the vast majority (statistics usually state around 70+%) of American public school teachers are white, what does it mean for white educators to lean into equity journeys that de-center whiteness and create brave spaces? Irvington UFSD is a predominantly white and wealthy district in Westchester County, NY. Our team includes district and building level administrators as well as teachers, and our workshop will share progress, challenges, and strategies along our pathway to a more culturally responsive learning space. We will have time to discuss a current issue/problem of practice that you are. navigating.
