Exploring Whiteness in Educational Policy and Practice: Equity Audits as a Tool for Change

This session is focused on developing a shared understanding of what Whiteness is and how it is systematically engrained in educational policy and practice. Educational leaders (teachers, school administrators, district administrators) are empowered to engage in equity audits to target areas for intentional change. The objective is that participants gain an awareness for where and how Whiteness is embedded in their policies and practices, and how they can utilize equity audits to foster changes that benefit diverse student populations. Participants will walk away with a tool for conducting programmatic equity audits.
