April - July 2026
- Dr. Stephanie Cook, Associate Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Biostatistics at NYU School of Global Public Health, was featured on the podcast “The Life Lab by Death Clock.” In the episode, Dr. Cook discusses the science of chronic stress, including the body’s stress-response system and its effects on health, as well as the external and systemic factors that impact people’s experiences with and ability to recover from chronic stress.
Dr. Jorge Cuartas, Associate Professor in Psychology and Economics at Universidad de los Andes, and Research Affiliate at NYU Global TIES for Children and IHDSC, was featured on radio program and podcast, The Academic Minute, which explored his research on how excessive heat can harm children’s development.
- Dr. Andrea Glenn, Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Food Studies at NYU Steinhardt, shared insights about protein sources and other nutrition tips with Harvard Health Publishing and The Guardian. She also appeared on “The Proof” podcast where she discussed plant-forward diets and cardiometabolic health.
Dr. Michael Kieffer, Professor of Literacy Education at NYU Steinhardt, shared insights in a New York Times report on the recent drop in NYC students’ reading scores.
Dr. Andrew Koepp, Assistant Professor of Applied Psychology at NYU Steinhardt, was featured in HealthDay and US News & World Report for his research on impulsivity and attention problems in third-graders. Dr. Koepp also appeared on a 1010WINS radio broadcast to discuss his new research on third graders’ impulsivity.
- Dr. Florencia Lopez Boo, Director of Global TIES and Professor of Economics and Applied Psychology at NYU Steinhardt, was spotlighted in an interview by Oxford University Economics Department.
Dr. Sophia Rodriguez, Associate Professor of Educational Policy Studies and Sociology at NYU Steinhardt, appeared on NPR’s Weekend Edition Sunday to discuss birthright citizenship and the Trump v. Barbara US Supreme Court case. Her research was also spotlighted in Education Week, detailing the impact that immigration enforcement and anti-immigrant policies have on K-12 schools, educators, and immigrant youth and families.
October 2025 - March 2026
- Dr. Suzanne Dikker, Research Associate Professor of Psychology and Neural Science at NYU Arts & Sciences, was featured in Rolling Stone and Science Friday for her collaborative research with musicians Mike Gordon and Bob Weir exploring flow states and interpersonal synchrony in music. She was also cited in the San Francisco Standard discussing the role of synchrony in enhancing wellbeing in collective experiences such as dance and rave culture.
- Dr. Angela Trude, Assistant Professor in the Nutrition Program at NYU Steinhardt, was featured by the American Diabetes Association in coverage related to research funding and interventions promoting healthier food environments.
- Dr. Hala Alyan, Clinical Assistant Professor of Applied Psychology at NYU Steinhardt, has received widespread recognition for her memoir, I'll Tell You When I'm Home: A Memoir. Her book was lauded as a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize (read more here), as well as being named an NPR Book of the Year, one of TIME’s 100 Must-Read Books of the Year, and on the longlist for the National Book Critics Circle Award.
May-September 2025
- Sophia Rodriguez was interviewed for Cal Matters to discuss how the Los Angeles Unified School District has rallied to support immigrant students and families.
- Angela Trude was featured in numerous news outlets, including Food Ingredients First, Ingredients Network, Route Fifty, Supermarket News, and NYU news about combatting food insecurity through digital interventions.
