The Research Alliance for New York City Schools is pleased to introduce Spotlight on New York City Schools, a web-based series of data analyses and visualizations designed to inform public debate about education in New York City and highlight important questions for future research.
The posts—which will address a wide range of topics about the City’s schools—each shine a “spotlight” on a specific piece of data analysis, and then highlight related questions that rigorous and nonpartisan research could and should answer.
We hope these pieces serve as conversation starters, stoke interest in education research, and encourage readers to think about how data and evidence might be brought to bear on important issues in the City.
What other questions should we be asking? Are you exploring any of these topics? Let us know via email.
