Each year, NYU researchers analyze New York State Medicaid, New York City Department of Education, and New York City subsidized housing data to discover new patterns of family experiences and outcomes and inform new approaches to fighting poverty, reducing inequality, and expanding opportunity in our communities. NYU’s Social Science for Impact Forum featured presentations from Dr. Sherry Glied, Dr. Ingrid Ellen, and Dr. James Kemple about three NYU-housed datasets (e.g., HEAL, CoreData, and SCHMA).
Apply for the Social Science for Impact Spring 2020 Research Competition
IHDSC is pleased to announce the 2020 Social Science for Impact research competition! Social Science for Impact aims to support graduate students and early career researchers in conducting research using one or more of the health, housing, and education datasets available at NYU to answer compelling research questions and inform viable social policies. Successful applicants will receive prizes of between $500 and $1,000 for project activities taking place between June and September 2020. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis between May 11th, 2020 and June 15th, 2020. Prizes will be awarded on a rolling basis.
