The Hotline Team
Welcome to the New York State English Language Learner Parent Hotline. It is critical to have an informed, empowered community of parents, guardians and other persons in parental relation to ensure that our English Language Learners (ELLs) are well served.
This Hotline was created to provide parents, guardians and other persons in parental relation of ELLs with information about their rights and services for their children pursuant to Commissioner’s Regulation 154. It also provides a mechanism to respond to specific inquiries about the delivery of these services.
Special informational brochures have been prepared for parents of ELLs:
- Parents' Bill of Rights
- Common Core Parent's Guide
- Information on the New York State Identification Test for English Language Learners
- A Guide to Understanding the New Rules for School Registration
- Other informational resources may be found here.
If you have a specific inquiry regarding your rights or services for your child, you may contact us by completing an inquiry form here, or call us at (800) 469-8224. If you prefer, you can download this inquiry form and email it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or mail it to us at:
