Swallowing-related fatigue among older adults

In collaboration with the Communicative Sciences and Disorders (CSD) department, PRIISM's Dr. Daphna Harel along with CSD's PhD student, Danielle Brates, and Dr. Sonja Molfenter published a paper in the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research about the perception of swallowing-related fatigue among older adults. Results indicate that "fatigue during swallowing and mealtimes is experienced by community-dwelling older adults and predicted dysphagia risk and malnutrition risk."
