Under the direction of Professor Dana Burde, Editor-in-Chief, Nathan Thompson (Senior Managing Editor), and Samantha Colon (Managing Editor), the INEE-NYU Journal on Education in Emergencies (JEiE) has continued to publish rigorous open-access evidence on education in crisis and conflict-affected contexts and expand access to knowledge capital creation for authors from underrepresented spaces. In December 2022, JEiE published a bilingual (French-English) special issue on education in pandemics featuring lessons from research and field work conducted in South Sudan, DRC, Rwanda, Nigeria, Lebanon, Syria, Honduras, the US, and elsewhere at the height of COVID-19, as well as from past pandemics and epidemics, including Ebola, SARS, and HIV/AIDS. JEiE published Arabic and Spanish translations of selected articles in July 2023. A season of the JEiE podcast, called Behind the Pages, was released in April 2023 and features interviews with the authors about the anecdotes and human moments behind their research that enrich their published work. Prof Burde is directing content curation for JEiE's next issue, which is planned for December 2023.
