Dr. Daphna Harel is the co-investigator on a new study led by Drs. Brett Thombs and Andrea Benedetti at McGill University. The study, titled "Comparison of Depression Research Diagnoses and Symptom Scores Obtained via Conventional In-person and Alternative Methodologies,” is funded by the New Frontiers in Research Fund and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council. This one year project is the first study to externally validate the results of shortening a patient reported outcome measure through optimal test assembly. In this manuscript, Dr. Harel and her colleagues use data from the DEPRESSD group consisting of 34,698 participants to assess and confirm the results of a previous study on the development of the Patient Health Questionnaire-4.
Dr. Harel is a member of the steering committee for the DEPRESSD Project.
