Recently, Metro's Education Justice Research and Organizing Collaborative (EJ-ROC) partnered with the New York City Coalition for Educational Justice (CEJ) and the NYC Department of Education to use the Culturally Responsive Curriculum Scorecard to collectively score excerpts from 3rd and 5th grade Expeditionary Learning curriculum.
The scoring session included teachers, principals, DOE central staff, parents, students, and Chief Academic Officer Linda Chen, who kicked off the process. "It was a powerful model of collaboration across constituencies to understand, analyze, and collaborate to ensure that NYC curriculum is culturally responsive", stated EJ-ROC Director Megan Hester.
