NYU OT Scholar Series: Dr. Margaret McCarthy

Margaret McCarthy, PhD, RN, FNP-BC, FAHA, is an assistant professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. She is a family nurse practitioner and an exercise physiologist. Her research focuses on assessing and promoting physical activity in populations at risk for cardiovascular disease. Her current research goal is to develop interventions to promote physical activity during a clinical office visit, focusing on the use of technology. This presentation will review the opportunities for assessing current levels of physical activity in adults, and for encouraging providers to counsel patients on achieving current physical activity recommendations.
