Small Talk Journal Club
Welcome to the Small Talk Lab Journal Club at NYU
The Small Talk Journal Club aims to foster the discussion of latest research evidence in language development and disorders in children. We discuss diverse topics ranging from how children with autism and developmental language disorders acquire language, language processing in children with cochlear implants and language intervention in children with developmental language disorders growing up in bilingual environments.
We meet virtually every third Monday of the month from 5:00 - 6:00 PM during the semester. Journal articles are circulated in advance and all attendees are encouraged to take part in the discussion and ask questions. A lead discussant will facilitate the discussion. In-person meetings will be suspended until further notice. All participants are welcome to participate via our Zoom link.
Our next meeting of the 2020-2021 academic year will be Monday, October 19 from 5 to 6 PM EST. Please join us! We will be discussing Wright and colleagues' 2019 paper: “Tell Me About Your Picture”: Using Drawings to Support Expressive Language in Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Meeting in person: 665 Broadway, 9th Floor conference room (suspended)
