The ASD Nest Support Project recently partnered with the NY Hall of Science (NYHS) to provide training aimed at supporting autistic young adults during their summer internship experience with The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The professional development was led by Alexis Betancourt-Hart, ED.M, who had the honor of presenting to NASA engineers, scientists and astronauts, as well as staff from NYHS, who will be supporting autistic young adults remotely this summer as part of an internship program. The professional development focused on providing an understanding of autism, implications for best practices, and concrete strategies to support autistic interns.
