The Integration and Innovation Initiative (i3) is committed to achieving meaningful integration in our schools and communities. We understand that real integration requires more than the movement of bodies, but the movement of culture, resources, opportunity, and power towards anti-racism.

Grounded in an intersectional anti-racist framework, i3 partners with stakeholders across schools and communities seeking to design student-centered anti-racist school policy and community practices. Building intersectional and anti-racist practices within community organizing spaces is key to transformational coalition work. We are committed to supporting the development of multiracial and generational practices and priorities that facilitate shared power and real integration. We bring expertise in youth development, community coalition building, and policy design to support our partners.

i3 Stakeholder Offerings

Amplifying Youth Voices for Racial Justice and Integration
i3 has long standing experience supporting and facilitating youth coalition spaces towards anti-racism and equity. We work within schools and beyond school walls to support student leadership development, anti-racism training, and student-designed policy. Offerings include coaching and facilitation of youth-centered workshops focused on: anti-racism training for youth, coalition building and collaboration across difference, identifying authentic adult allyship, and intergenerational collaboration.

Anti-Racist Adult Allyship

“Generational challenges require intergenerational solutions.”
- Richard Gray

Showing up as a meaningful adult ally is key to intergenerational collaboration and building trust with youth collaborators. We work to support adult allies to develop anti-racist and intersectional practices when working with youth in and out of classrooms. Offerings include workshops and coaching on positive youth development, Do’s and Don’ts for adult allies, and using adult privilege to support students.

Community Coalition Building for Racial Justice and Integration
We are in a moment of significant interacial solidarity and collaboration for racial justice. However, multiracial organizing spaces do not automatically center racial justice, manifestations of white supremacy, capitalism, and patriarchy can seep into these spaces, which undermine the broader goals of racial justice. We work with a wide range of stakeholders including community organizers, community leaders, youth, and educators to center anti-racism in their coalition work. Offerings include coaching and facilitation of community workshops to build relationships across groups, develop shared understanding of the impacts of racism in schools and communities, and generate organizing practices that center racial justice and achieve real integration.
