Personalization in Education (P.I.E.) Challenge

The P.I.E. Challenge is a first-of-its-kind national challenge in Israel to promote personalized learning solutions in high school math classrooms. The winning personalization solution gets to implement their solution in dozens of high schools throughout Israel's social periphery. As research and evaluation partners, LEARN and the Center for Practice and Research at the Intersection of Information, Society, and Methodology (PRIISM) co-developed guidelines for data collection and determination of the winning team.

Calculus Early Alerts

The Calculus Early Alerts project is a partnership between LEARN, NYU IT TLT and NYU’s Courant Institute of Mathematics to use predictive modeling to identify students at risk of struggling or failing NYU's introductory calculus classes. This model will enable instructors to offer proactive support (both resources and instructor attention) targeted to students’ specific learning needs. Initial efforts focus on a small number of sections with the intention to eventually make the model and supports available to the full complement of students enrolling in introductory calculus.
