How to Apply & Financial Aid
In order to be considered for admission to the MA in Art, Education, and Community Practice (34 credits), applicants must have a strong record of academic achievement and a bachelor’s degree in Studio Art, Art History, Design, Architecture OR other related visual field of study OR can demonstrate significant experience and background as a practicing artist/designer.
Applicants whose first language is not English are required to take one of the following English proficiency exams and submit the scores: TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic. See more information on English proficiency testing.
Follow the specific instructions outlined by NYU Steinhardt's Office of Graduate Admissions Application Guide for filing your application.
The next application deadline February 1.
SCHOLARSHIPS REQUIRE A FAFSA TO BE FILLED OUT BY FEBRUARY 1 - NO EXCEPTIONS.
The Art + Education Programs offer merit and need based scholarships. In order to be eligible for any financial aid you MUST complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
You can complete the FAFSA form online. The University's institution code is 002785.
Deadlines: Submit your FAFSA by February 1 for Fall enrollment. Do not wait to be accepted. You can use tax forms from the previous tax year to submit.
