The Nordoff-Robbins Center offers adaptive music instruction to those who show interest in learning to play an instrument, but require specialized support. We offer adaptive lessons for piano, guitar, and other instruments. Instruction is adapted to meet the needs of people with diverse learning abilities.
These lessons differ from music therapy services; instead of clinical goals, the objective is to achieve skill-based music learning. Prospective students must possess a desire to learn the instrument, some fine motor skills, and the capacity to attend to a task for at least ten minutes.
Our services are open to people of all abilities.
Fees for September 2020 through June 2021 are $75 for group classes, and range from $105 to $145 for individual classes of 30 or 45 minutes. Clients or families unable to afford these fees may be eligible for our sliding scale (tax form required). For more information, please contact Managing Director Dr. Alan Turry at (212) 998-5151.
