Funded by the Spencer Foundation and led by Drs. Joanna Geller, Jennifer Cossyleon, and Fabienne Doucet, we explore how children learn and thrive when their family members belong to parent leadership and organizing groups that are striving toward social, racial, and economic justice.

Image captures a mother and son at play in front of their home. Both the mother and son sit out the steps of their home, as they sit in mid embrace. The son wearing a black shirt, reaches towards his mother's face with his index finger. The mother wearing a gray colored shirt, with a Black-Power icon t-shirt on, smiles as her son gleely attempts to place an "I voted" sticker on her nose.

A landscape analysis of almost 200 parent leadership groups illustrates how mothers of color are leading the way toward social, racial, and economic justice.

Image captures youth protesting in the street. This group of protestors are in the street holding signs with text that express their calls for change. While the photo itself is a wide shot that captures a total of ten protestors, the picture actually centers around black female protestor. She is in the middle of the frame and holds a sign which reads, "Together we can change". .
