NY State Education Department

The New York State Education Department (NYSED) is part of the University of the State of New York (USNY), connecting primary, secondary, and post-secondary education systems. NYSED supervises of all public schools in New York State. It certifies and licenses teachers and school professionals. NYSED oversees curriculum and instruction, ensuring alignment with the state tests and Regents Examinations it creates and administers. These test scores are one aspect of the School Report Cards it produces.
