American Museum of Natural History – Saltz Internship Program

Participating in the Saltz Internship Program is an opportunity for students to meet Museum personnel, explore scientific content, learn valuable skills for working with and teaching learners of all ages, and have an impact on the experiences of thousands of Museum visitors.

Bank of America Student Leaders

The Student Leaders program is an eight-week summer experience for high school juniors and seniors. The program includes a paid internship with a local nonprofit organization as well as the Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. The program gives Student Leaders the opportunity to develop and apply leadership skills through hands-on community work experience while discovering their own talents for serving their community and leading others.

Black Rock Forest Summer Science Camp

Black Rock Forest Consortium welcomes middle and high school students in summer 2014 for authentic, week-long learning experiences in nature, working directly with scientists and artists. Classes are developed and taught by subject experts and provide an opportunity to explore college and career possibilities in the natural sciences while having fun in Black Rock Forest, a private 4,000 acre preserve in Cornwall, NY or on the Florida coast.

Brooklyn Botanical Garden’s Garden Apprentice Program

The Garden Apprentice Program (GAP) at Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a great way for teens to learn about urban agriculture and the environment while working in one of the most exciting public gardens in the world! Apprentices can work their way up the four-tier program, potentially earning a paid position as Senior Apprentice.

Central Park Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship provides full-time, paid summer jobs with the Central Park Conservancy for approximately 25 high school students. Interns support the horticulture, visitor services and public programs departments.

Edenworks Apprenticeship

We want to work with excited and curious people who love to learn, something that we expect from students motivated enough to join Farm School NYC. We also have a grand mission to provide NYC with healthy sustainable food, and believe that your program provides the guiding prerequisites to prepare an apprentice to work on our site.

NYC Parks’ Ranger Conservation Corps

The Ranger Conservation Corps (RCC) is an urban environmental internship for high school students. RCC participants work on environmental restoration in Forever Wild sites located in our flagship parks. There are two RCC sessions each year (fall and spring), and each session lasts 8 to 10 weeks. The program occurs one day a week, on a school day afternoon for 2 to 2.5 hours.

Turner Construction Company’s YouthForce 2020

The New York Office of Turner Construction Company each year selects five high school seniors from New York City schools for an $8,000 college scholarship/internship program. The recipients must major in Electrical, Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability, Construction Management or Architecture
