This essay was developed in response to the current community college status, exploring how faculty can engage students to improve learning outcomes and promote academic success in community colleges. I selected the topic due to my broader academic interest in higher education faculty dynamics. Specifically, this paper serves as an initial exploration of faculty-related issues, which I am focusing in particular on the status of women faculty and strategies for improving their roles in higher education. By examining some of the common issues that community college faculty members encounter, I sought to lay foundational groundwork for more focused research on gender disparities and the professional advancement of women in academic institutions.
