The Tech Flex Leaders Program is a nine-month out-of-school time program for juniors and seniors enrolled in New York City high schools. The program embeds weekly computer science and technology classes at local companies, offers mentorship with industry professionals and provides access to professional opportunities.
What You Will Gain
Tech Flex Leaders develop a portfolio of projects that illustrate an understanding of front-end and back-end web development and UX design. Topics covered include: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, JQuery, ReactJS and Angular JS. Students work on both individual and group projects. Groups have an opportunity develop websites for mock clients and participate in a pitch competition against other teams for top prizes during Demo Day. Students also participate in professional development sessions and career days. After the program, NYOT places students into paid internships over the summer with its corporate partners.
