International Students
The NYU Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) will assist you in making a smooth transition to life as a student at NYU. Steps for our international students are as follows:
Step 1: Activate NYU NetID
- Make sure to activate your NYU NetID.
Step 2: View the Multimedia Tutorial
- View the multimedia tutorial for newly admitted students at http://www.nyu.edu/oiss/documents/tutorialHome/ by clicking on the "Launch" button.
Step 3: Complete an AFCOE Application
- Go to http://www.nyu.edu/oiss/afcoe/ and follow the instructions to complete the application. This website provides instructions on how to obtain an Application for Certificate Eligibility for F-1 of J-1 Status (AFCOE), which is to be filled out and returned with financial documents to the NYU Office for International Student and Scholars (OISS). Based on your qualification, the OISS will issue you an I-20 or IAP-66 that enables you to apply for a visa. You should contact the OISS directly if you have any questions concerning your AFCOE or visa at:
