Environmental Defense is a leading national nonprofit organization representing more than 300,000 members. Since 1967, they have linked science, economics, and law to create innovative, equitable and cost effective solutions to society's most urgent environmental problems. GreenCorps is a field school for environmental organizing. Their mission is to teach the next generation of environmental leaders the strategies and skills they will need to win tomorrow's environmental battles, while providing critical field support for today's pressing environmental problems. Graduates of the program are placed in environmental organizations throughout the United States.

The nonprofit, nonpartisan GreenBiz.com, works to harness the power of technology to bring environmental information, resources and tools to the mainstream business community. The site provides resources and job listings for environmental positions across the United States.

Grow To Learn 

A Citywide School Gardens Initiative established by The Mayor's Fund and GrowNYC to inspire, facilitate and promote the creation of a sustainable school garden in each and every public school across New York City.  This site will help teachers through the process.

Idealist 

Idealist is a website devoted to connecting students and job-seekers to non-profit opportunities around the country. The website is updated daily and also contains opportunities for campaigns and nonprofit events.

Living on Earth Internships 

A Living on Earth internship provides an invaluable introduction to broadcast media. Each semester, they rely on a handful of bright, capable interns to contribute to their award-winning program, and experience first-hand what goes on behind the scenes of a nationally distributed public radio news magazine.

Mount Sinai International Exchange Program for Minority Students 

Offers exchange programs and internships to conduct research internationally. Students selected will travel to New York City for orientation and then to either Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Spain or South Africa to begin their research and international experience for 3 months. Travel and housing expenses are covered, in addition to, a stipend.

NAAEE

National Audubon Society

The New York City Summer Internship Program 

The NYC Summer Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to explore careers in public service and become acquainted with basic government operations.
