Hudson River Education and Stewardship Program
The NYU Wallerstein Collaborative launched a citizen science program in 2011, with the funding from the Water Resources Institite. The Hudson River Education and Stewardship Program engages NYC middle and high school teachers and their students in monitoring and studying the Hudson River Estuary with graduate students from NYU Environmental Conservation Education Masters Program. Since the program started, approximately 450 middle and high school students from 9 NYC schools have had the opportunity to learn in a hands-on setting that makes chemistry and biology come to life.
