Caroline Hiott

Research Scientist, ECDEC

Caroline moved to New York in 2016 after working to support and provide quality and evaluative feedback for a wide-range of development programs implemented by community-based organizations across Southeast Asia, as well as several years in Australia, Europe and South America, in other capacities. Caroline’s main research interests involve identifying approaches to designing and/or adapting programs in complex humanitarian contexts that reflect and engage the culture, uniqueness and voice of the community the program is designed to support. Her main responsibilities at NYU Global TIES involve the design and development of a longitudinal study of Rohingya refugee mothers and their children in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Caroline holds a MPH in Global Public Health from New York University, and a BA in Global Cultures and Anthropology from The University of Alabama.
