On September 27, 2018, the Senate Judiciary Committee held hearings featuring testimonies from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and now Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The events of that day sparked much writing and discussion about the differences in how audiences perceive a person’s behavior depending on their gender. NYU Steinhardt’s Verbatim Performance Lab created The Kavanaugh Files as a series of investigations that use gender-flipped verbatim performance to contribute to the ongoing dialogue about how gender affects our day-to-day interactions and our larger political, cultural, and social worlds. This program features a panel discussion with members of the Verbatim Performance Lab who created The Kavanaugh Files, director Joe Salvatore and actresses and Steinhardt alumni Heleya de Barros and Suzy Jane Hunt.
