Boren Scholarships provide funding for US undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages critical to US interests. The length of the program ranges from 8 weeks to a full academic year. Boren recipients are committed to work in the federal government for at least one year. Note: The Office of Global Awards offers support for this scholarship opportunity and will endorse qualified applicants. All Boren Scholarship applicants must be in contact with the Boren Scholarship NYU Campus Representative well in advance of the final deadline so that the Campus Representative can both provide advice and have the time to produce a formal evaluation of all applications prior to the final deadline.

Award: The Boren Scholarship covers costs associated with your study abroad program, including tuition and fees, room and board, books, insurance, local transportation, and round-trip airfare on a U.S. carrier. The Boren Scholarship does not cover study tours of several countries.
