NYU Steinhardt and the NYC Department of Education have arranged for an information session for January 2014, May 2014 and Summer 2014 certification program completers interested in seeking positions in New York City Public Schools.

While all students completing certification programs (including Speech and Language Disabilities and School Counseling) are welcome, the focus of the information session will be for teacher certificate candidates in Teaching and Learning, Music and the Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.
The goals of the NYCDOE Information Session are to:
- Encourage prospective teachers to choose NYC public schools as their top choice
- Communicate the importance and urgency of teaching NYC public school students
- Provide information on the application process, hiring needs, incentives and deadlines
