New York University is proud to announce the second annual NYU Bickel & Brewer Global Debate Program, which promotes civil discourse among students in preparation for leadership and service.
The Global Debate Program, coordinated by the College of Arts and Science, is currently accepting applications from students who wish to participate. Teams will be formed this semester and they will begin their research on the selected topic, which this year is, “Increased taxes on the wealthy will not improve the global economy.” In the spring semester, knock-out rounds (in NYC and through video to accommodate students abroad) will reduce the field to a “Sweet 16.” The final rounds take place in April and culminate in an awards ceremony with scholarship prizes (up to $5000) to members of the top teams.
