For Juniors, Seniors, Grad Students
Monday, October 24th, 5:00-6:30PM
Location: The Wasserman Center, Presentation Room B
The ability to synthesize one’s thoughts and craft a 600-word op-ed for a periodical or blog will do much to advance your career or gain admission to a top graduate school. An impressive list of publications will separate you from the masses of other qualified candidates for a job or grad school admissions.
This program will feature how to determine which topic to write about, how to structure the op-ed, and when to submit. There will also be an emphasis on establishing relationships that ensure that op-eds from members of the NYU community will be published.
Our guest speaker, Jonathan Yates, has had hundreds of op-eds appear under his byline in Newsweek, The Washington Post and other periodicals and websites. He has worked as Press Secretary for a Member of Congress and Speechwriter for a major trade association. He has degrees from Harvard University, The Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown University Law Center.
