On Saturday, September 16, 2017, NYU Steinhardt’s Department of Physical Therapy held their 4rd Annual Inauguration and White Coat Ceremony, welcoming new professional and post-professional students to NYU PT. The event was held at the beautiful Rosenthal Pavilion, located NYU’s Kimmel Center overlooking Washington Square Park.
The event began with a procession of current students followed by newly enrolled students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy for Practicing Physical Therapists, Master of Arts, and Doctor of Physical Therapy programs. The event continued with a welcome by Department Chair and Associate Professor Dr. Mitchell Batavia, and a school-wide welcome from Dr. Patricia M. Carey, Associate Dean of Student Affairs at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, and a faculty welcome by professors John Sutera and Kevin Weaver.
Students received their white coats with help from professor Louis Iannuzzi, took their oath with professor Elaine Becker, and proudly celebrated with friends, family, faculty, and Department staff during a post-ceremony reception, complete with a toast to their new journey here at NYU Steinhardt.
