Village Records, a Student-Run Label at NYU Steinhardt, Launches Singer-Songwriter Murielle

Village Records, a student-run record label at NYU Steinhardt, has released Walking Out That Door, a premier single from Murielle, a 19-year-old singer-songwriter based in New York City and London. Walking Out That Door has been described as a “feel-good pop tune with hints of R&B and Afro-beats that puts an empowering twist on the traditional break-up song.” The single and an acoustic music video has been released on music streaming platforms.

Village Records, an independent label and a course at NYU Steinhardt’s undergraduate music business program, offers students the opportunity to serve as talent scouts, artistic directors, and collaborators with artists and bands during the recording and mixing process. Murielle is currently a sophomore at NYU Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
