Catherine Gurriero, Adjunct Professor, Receives NYU’s Martin Luther King Faculty Award

Catherine Guerriero, an adjunct associate professor in Steinhardt’s Department of Administration, Leadership, and Technology, has been awarded NYU’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Faculty Award. The award is presented annually to five faculty members at NYU who exemplify King’s spirit through their teaching, public service, leadership, and community-building activities.

Guerriero, an active participant in the New Era Democrats political club in Brooklyn and the Congress of Italian American Organizations, was recognized for two decades of “participating tirelessly on numerous political campaigns.” A citation read in her honor noted her contributions to the Archdiocese of New York where she served as director of strategic planning for Edward Cardinal Egan and director of government relations for Catholic Charities.

The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Faculty Award is sponsored by NYU’s Office of the Provost in partnership with the NYU Division of Student Affairs.
