Vocal Performance Program Presents Street Scene, March 7-8

NYU Steinhardt’s program in vocal performance will present Street Scene.  Based on Elmer Rice’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Street Scene tells the story of the ordinary romances, gossip, and quarrels of an East Side tenement. Directed by music assistant professors William Wesbrooks and Grant Wenaus (musical direction), the opera features music by Kurt Weill, and lyrics by Langston Hughes and Elmer Rice.

The cast and orchestra will feature undergraduate and graduate students from the NYU Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts Professions.

The production will run at NYU’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, 566 LaGuardia Place. Subway lines: A, B, C, D, E, F, M (W. 4th St.), 1 (Christopher St.), N, R (8th St.), 6 (Astor Place), 6 (Bleecker St.). Tickets are $20 general admission and $5 for students/senior citizens.
