Steinhardt Hosts Visit of South African Deputy President

At a public lecture on March 28, 2011, H.E. Kgalema Motlanthe, Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, called on his partners in America, especially Africans in the Diaspora,“to contributetowards building the African continent, particularly in relation to aspects connected to the higher education sector, skills development and capacity building.”

Teboho Moja, clinical professor of higher education, moderated the question and answer session that followed. Moja, who is conducting a study on the educational and health care challenges faced by displaced Zimbabwean youth living in South Africa, teaches a summer course in Cape Town and Pretoria, South Africa called ‘Educational and Social Reform.’
