Kathy Heins has been appointed director of development.Heins, who currently serves as director of development and public affairs at NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts (IFA), will join Steinhardt in February.
At IFA, Heins has been responsible for fundraising, alumni affairs, public relations, and strategic planning for the institute’s capital campaign. IFA, located with NYU’s Faculty of Arts and Science, offers graduate studies in art history, archaeology, and the conservation of art works.
Heins earned a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, a master’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and pursued doctoral studies at IFA. She has held positions in the performing arts fields, serving as senior director and director of development at the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Theatre for A New Audience. Heins also served on the staff of the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation, which supports the study of Venetian culture and research in the humanities.
“Kathy brings more than fifteen years of experience in fundraising and philanthropy and a wealth of experience to our school,” said Barbara Kotlikoff, assistant dean for development and alumni affairs, announcing the appointment. “I know she will contribute tremendously to the NYU Steinhardt team at the Office for University Development and Alumni Relations.”
