Dr. Martin Roy, co-teacher of the program's first semester course in Histology/General Pathology along with Dr. Harvey Wishe, followed up his MA in Cell Biology from Brooklyn College with a PhD in Biology from New York University. Since 1977, Dr. Roy has received more than 20 professional grants from organizations such as the Heart, Lung and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health, the American Institute of Cancer Research, and the United States Department of Agriculture, and has been honored with the 1976 Helen Flon Memorial Award in Histology, the 1977 Charlotte Pann Memorial Award in Hematology, and the 1977 Gladys Mateyko Award for Excellence in Biology (Honorable Mention). Dr. Roy has also published more than 70 journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters. In addition to teaching at the PT Department, Dr. Roy is Associate Professor in the New York University College of Dentistry's Division of Basic Sciences.
